Alight Foundation

Alight Foundation Alight supports local breast cancer patients and their families in the greater Greensboro area by providing financial, educational, and emotional assistance as they navigate through their diagnosis, treatment options, and plan of care. Through collaborative efforts with community and health agencies, patients and their families can make well-informed choices and have access to many significant resources.

We know that our community is committed to taking care of its own. We have a goal to ensure that not one breast cancer patient feels alone or without adequate resources. You can help make a difference in their lives and the lives of their families. With your help, we can sustain a program of excellence in breast cancer patient care.

Out of the Garden Project

Out of the Garden Project Out of the Garden Project (OOTGP) is a food assistance program for families primarily in Guilford County that partners with parents, teachers, friends, and various organizations to provide food and hope for children and their families! Every Friday, at 50+ Guilford County Schools and 1 Forsyth County School, OOTGP provides enough food (6 to 7 lbs.) to each child to feed a family of four two meals. Each week more than 900 families are reached.

In addition, OOTGP also has two mobile food pantries that are taken to areas of need in Guilford County on a rotating basis. One is Partnership Mobile Pantry, with Greensboro Urban Ministry and the other is Harvest Food Bank.

Earlier.org

Earlier.orgSince its founding in 1995, Earlier.org – Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test® has worked and focused solely on the earlier detection of breast cancer, ideally a BIOLOGICAL TEST, which has the potential to reduce or prevent invasive surgery, minimize treatment and dramatically increase survival rates.

Many non-profit organizations have multiple offices, staff and multi-level internal organizations. Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test ® has only one office, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, with one full-time and two part-time staff members. The objective of the organization is to direct as many funds as possible, as quickly as possible, to research. When Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test ® achieves its clearly defined mission to fund research leading to successful earlier detection, the organization can willingly and thankfully close its doors.

"This is a project, not an ongoing organization. A biomarker will be found and a test to detect breast cancer in its earliest stages will be created. No previous generation has had the opportunity to make an impact of this magnitude on breast cancer." - Martha Kaley, Founder
